Week Two...

Day Six, April 19, 2010.




Lauren Gilhula day six; submitted photo from weekend of military funeral prep.online today...working on cadet story and volunteer story. met the cutest irish lady this morning! both will be in the paper later this week. ..bonus: i get to one of my dream assignments: tour around the safari reserves with an escort to take photos of the animals, then write a story on african lion safari! LIFE IS GOOD! ♥

Solemn steps. Soldiers of the 1st Battalion of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry practiced solemn steps Saturday at the Cambridge Armoury for the funeral for fellow soldier, the recently fallen Pte. Tyler William Todd. Todd was killed by a roadside bomb April 11, just weeks before his tour was to return home. A public service is to take place today in Plattsville for the Bright, Ont., native, followed by a private internment. LAUREN GILHULA, SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Day Eight, April 21, 2010.

Lauren Gilhula day eight; edit, edit, edit! can't wait to get the African Lion Safari story lined up to go and shoot! ..had an AMAZING time last night with Matt Bowman and Bob Wheeler. That reunion was sooo long overdue. It was so nice to walk down memory lane. sooo many laughs. thanks boys! i've missed you so much! LIFE.IS.GOOD. ♥ xo

Heartwood Place is an organization that provides affordable housing in Waterloo Region.
